In this regard practitioner members must sign a skilled-helping code-of-ethics irrespective of whether they are counsellors, coaches, facilitators, mediators or other professional-, or practitioner skilled helpers.
I am a narrative practitioner based in Pretoria, offering both in-person and online sessions. I am part of Signo Professionals, and my work is grounded in Pastoral Narrative Therapy—an approach that honors people as meaning-makers of their own lives and recognizes the sacredness of story.
My journey into narrative therapy began as more than an academic pursuit; it became a personal encounter with the powerful, wonderfulness that emerges when people are invited to reclaim authorship of their lives. Through my studies in Pastoral Narrative Therapy, I came to deeply believe that every person carries within them the capacity for change, renewal, and hope—even when life’s stories feel heavy, fragmented, or limiting.
Since 2024, I have also held an affiliation with Simcha Recovery and Family Care under the guidance of Dr Jo Viljoen. This relationship began during my training, when I volunteered as a student supporting individuals and families navigating the complexities of substance use and recovery. After completing my supervision programme in Pastoral Narrative Therapy, I transitioned into the role of narrative practitioner—now facilitating groups and contributing as a full member of the Simcha community. This affiliation continues to shape my commitment to compassionate presence, relational healing, and honoring the courage it takes to pursue recovery.
As a part-time practitioner, I intentionally create spaces where individuals and groups can pause, reflect, and gently explore the stories shaping their lives. These are spaces of collaboration rather than expertise—where we listen carefully to lived experiences, name the influence of problems, and reconnect with values, faith, and preferred ways of being.
Together, we attend to glimmers of hope, uncover stories that may have been silenced, and reauthor identities that honor dignity, resilience, and possibility. My pastoral lens invites attentiveness to spirituality, meaning, and relationship, while remaining respectful of each person’s unique worldview and pace.
Each session is an invitation:
to discover new meanings,
to strengthen relationships,
and to explore what becomes possible when stories are deconstructed, reimagined, and held with care.
It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they reclaim their stories and step more fully into lives that reflect who they truly are.
