As a school librarian I realised the importance of stories in the lifes of children. I always had a story ready for every situation that might crop up. Studying narrative therapy at Coram Deo the past three years I became aware of the importance of our own life stories and that we have the power to say this is not how the story is going to end. Susan Wittig Albert said: “As we become aware of ourselves as storytellers we realize we can use our stories to heal and make ourselves whole.” As a narrative practitioner I see my role as sharing the journey of the client’s life story in a respectful, non-judgemental and non-fixing way, in order for the client to make the decision to write a new story for his /her life. I have a special interest in primary school children with special needs, adults who have to cope with disabilities, as well as people traveling the grief road.
I live in Fairlands, Johannesburg. I am available for 1 on 1 sessions for people in the West Rand.
