My first contact with Pastoral Narrative Therapy was a course presented in our church, which inspired me. I was fortunate enough to attend some of the Narrative Therapy Master’s lectures in 2006. I am now semi-retired and could do the Pastoral Narrative Therapy Course at Coram Deo. My role is to provide the experience of being listened to and knowing that you are in a safe and nonjudgmental space. I know the feeling of being trapped and having to re-story your life to enable you to heal and grow via new narratives of yourself.

I have a diverse circle of friends in terms of religious orientation, race, sexual orientation and outlook on life. I focus on you as a unique person and not on the labels that society has applied. My experiences include teenagers, students, and people of all ages, and as a grandfather, I have new perspectives on life too!

We live in an uncertain and chaotic world, therefore meditation is a vital part of our lives and is one of the strengths of Narrative Therapy too. I look forward to walking with you!

I am Afrikaans but grew up in East London, so I am at home in English. I live in Rietvalleirand, in the south-east of the City of Tshwane and can use the facilities of Coram Deo in Centurion as well. Contact me on 082 336 2594 or mario.marais@gmail.com
