Mared van Nieuwenhuizen, Narrative Practitioner, Simcha Recovery Practitioner, Life Coach.

Mared met Narrative Therapy in 2014 and completed her Pastoral Narrative Therapy Course through Coram Deo Pretoria and the University of Pretoria Partnership, in 2016. During 2015 she got involved at Simcha Recovery with individual and group therapy, a journey very close to her heart. As practitioner at Simcha, Mared works with individuals and groups who struggle with the relationship food has with their lives, as well as the behavior related battles which support these problems. Sessions are facilitated via Zoom and people from around the world collaborate in group settings and take a stand against these problems interfering with their lives.

Mared recently entered the Narrative Life Coaching field to support individuals in meaning making adventures towards preferred identities and outcomes.

Most favourite quote is a book title by Louie Giglio “Don’t give the enemy a seat at your table.” The story stands on the shoulders of Psalm 23, verse 5, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies”.  Our enemies are not invited, only we are!

Mared is based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, loves dogs, outdoor walks and nature. She believes in second chances, and that hope is alive!
