This is one of my favorite quotes because I deeply believe in the importance of identity. It resonates with me profoundly as it captures the essence of what I strive to help others discover in my work. Understanding and embracing one’s unique identity is crucial, especially during the tumultuous years of adolescence. I am passionate about guiding individuals to recognize and value their true selves, as I believe this self-awareness is key to personal growth and fulfillment.
I am Kaysha Barnes and I have dedicated my heart and soul to the field of therapy. I have studied both Psychology and Narrative Therapy, and I am about to complete my supervision year, preparing myself to play a significant role in the mental health sector.
My passion for children and teenagers has flourished since childhood. From the beginning, I have had a soft spot in my heart for children who are struggling, and I have always felt a deep calling to make a difference in others’ lives. I firmly believe that the key to effective therapy is discovering each individual’s identity. I understand how challenging the process of self-discovery can be, especially for teenagers who often experience the chaos of development.
I have a profound interest in how the brain functions and how it influences our thoughts, emotions, and behavior. I hope to bring hope to every person who crosses my path, and I believe that there is always hope, even in the darkest times.
Currently, I work as a youth worker, which gives me the privilege of working daily with children and teenagers. This experience has allowed me to grow alongside my clients and witness their journey towards adulthood. My dream of starting my own counseling practice is becoming a reality, and I look forward to creating a safe space where each person can tell their story without judgment.
I consider it a privilege to see a child grow and learn more about themselves. I believe that every individual is worthy, just as they are.

Outside of my professional life, I am a self-described adrenaline junkie with a passion for adventure. From hiking to rock climbing, I always find new energy and inspiration in nature, whether it’s the sea, the mountains, or the Kruger National Park.
My journey is one of continual growth and discovery, and I am excited to walk this path with every person I meet, bringing hope along the way.
