Gerda Whitehorn is a freelance writer/journalist with special interest in trauma and grief.
In 2016 she published Rou Vrugte, a story of her personal path with grief and coping as mother of two small children after the death of her husband Johan MIddelberg in 1987.
She is mother of three adult sons, ouma-to-be and a lover of nature. She lives with her husband Brian and two dogs on a guest farm on the Longtom Pass near Lydenburg. Her hobbies include capturing-the-moment photography, French and slack-pack hiking. And of course, reading, writing and interaction with people.
Her ambition is to compile a practical manual featuring people’s personal stories of trauma and grief.
